                         How  To  Place  An  Order

HOW  TO  ORDER………..

Credit Card Orders:

FMRC no longer takes any credit card or online orders.  This is because many are aware of all the records kept on such type orders.  Although our customers order items from FMRC for Legal an Academic reasons, they do not want to be included in any “watched activity” or similar list, which the said OnLine method of payments can produce.

If you run across an item you wish to order, just write it down, include payment made out to FMRC, POB 18105, Pensacola, FL 32523, and just mail it in.  Be sure to give a good readable shipping address.  This is your best protection when ordering mycological items and it has proved itself since 1972.

Overseas And Out of Country Orders:   Send payment in U.S. Dollars "CASH" or International Postal Money Order.  Any check or Postal Money Order must be drawn on an U.S. Bank.  If you send cash, large amounts should be insured.  Canada orders should send "Canadian Postal Money Orders" making sure the amount is in U.S. Dollars and not Canadian Currency.  These can be bought at your local post office.  Payments should also include extra funds to cover Airmail Shipping.  Without extra funds for this postage, orders are shipped by low cost land or boat.  This can take many weeks sometimes.  You may contact us at peele@frontier.com if you have any questions or need help with the extra money needed for this Overseas and Out of Country shipping.

For mail orders , simply write or type items you wish to order. Use catalog numbers whenever they are given. Always give complete description of item. Show what item cost. Total up the entire order. There are no other hidden charges like postage, handling, or insurance. You send only the amount listed. The best method of payment is a U.S. Postal Money Order made out to FMRC. Personal checks are accepted.  FMRC will replace any item which is faulty, and will stand behind products listed in this catalog 100%.

Since 1972 FMRC has never had an unsettled claim. Please check us out with the Pensacola Better Business Bureau. No other mushroom company can make this almost 4 decade clean record statement.

As all products offered by FMRC are for "In-Vitro research purposes only, FMRC waves all responsibility for any injuries or legalities incurred through the use or mis-use of any products it sells.  Some items, like specific species of mushroom spores, may be illegal to possess in your area.  It is your responsibility to know your area's mushroom laws.  Known illegal areas are not serviced.  If you order an illegal item in your area, and FMRC was not aware of the law in your specific area, you take all responsibility for all problems, legal and others.  When you make any order, you confirm and agree that you have read and understand all the information on our site, about the item you have ordered.
Make sure you want the item or items you order.  Unless you receive the wrong item you ordered or the item has defects, there are no returns or refunds just because you suddenly changed your mind and no longer want the item you ordered.  A Return Authorization (RA) Number must be made by customer before faulty or wrong item can be returned.  Call FMRC, state the problem, and a RA Number will be issued.  Include all parts and portions of the order, and display the RA Number on the outside of the returned package.

If you have any questions you may call 1-850-327-4378, or e-mail peele@frontier.com

Spore print samples are usually on paper sealed in a plastic envelope. Samples contain plus or minus 10,000 spores. All spores are held in dry state just above freezing. Spores are offered mainly for microscopy and identifying purposes. Many times, from traveling through the postal system, spores may be knocked off paper. Because the samples are shipped in sealed plastic packets, spores will still be inside the packet, even when knocked off the paper. As many species listed are grouped "mycorrhiza" and cannot be lab cultivated along with others listed, and most species are collected from the wild, and FMRC has not run cultivation tests on said spores, no growing claims on any species is made, given or implied.  Because so many of the spores deposited in FMRC's Spore Bank are collected from wild specimens, they have been exposed to the outside air and have different degrees of contamination.  Before inoculating onto sterile media, spores should be cleaned.  Using a syringe filter with micron filters to perform cleaning filtration, or some other tested method, should be used.

Within 30 days of purchase, you may request a replacement free and without any cost. Only one replacement is given. Mycologists and mushroom hunters alike from all over the world deposit mushroom spores here at the Florida Mycology Research Center (FMRC). This makes it possible for them and anyone else to have access to mushroom spores worldwide. Donors of acceptable mushroom spores are given free exchanges. You may pick a spore sample packet for each species you donate that is accepted. Donors are entitled to have their gift isolations free when they may again need them. Spore prints should be submitted on 8 1/2 X 11 inch paper. Paper should be proper color as to contrast the color of mushroom spores. White paper for black or dark spores, and black or dark paper for white or light colored spores. A cover sheet is then placed over the prints and affixed at the very top only by tape or staple. If at all possible, these prints should be sent unfolded. If you are able to collect 7 - 10 complete sheets of prints from a large fruiting you have found, you may submit these for entry into the mushroom journal "THE MUSHROOM CULTURE", The Journal Of Mushroom Cultivation (TMC). If accepted and used, you earn a year's free subscription to this Journal. If you have any psychoactive mushroom spore prints you would like to deposit, these will be placed in "TEONANACATL", The International Journal Of Psychoactive Mushrooms (TEO). If enough prints meet entry into this Journal, same FREE year's subscription. Otherwise, prints will enter Main Bank.

To inspect the current Issue of a FMRC Mushroom Journal, just go to www.mushroomsfmrc.com and then pick your Journal by clicking "TEO Journals" or "TMC Journals". The DownLoad is FREE. Made possible by donations sent in to FMRC.  If you have benefited from FMRC, and would like to have others benefit as you have, please send your financial support by making an order or donation in any amount.  This keeps us on and allows others to also benefit.

Stephen L. Peele, Curator FMRC  Taken from #88 TMC October 2010 Mushroom Journal

France’s national income is helped so much by truffle sales, it is called their 13th
month. With weapons sales, perfumes, fashions, and other exotic exports, this
is saying a lot. China
has taken over the world market with Agaricus bisporus (the commercial
"Button" mushroom). Japan has been the world's leader in Shiitake
cultivation, but because of increasing demand in this country, many Shiitake
farms are now springing up here in America. Take for instance the
" Three River Farms" mushroom company. The
following was taken from #15 "TMC" July 95: "The mushroom
company started just 3 years ago. It was started in a lumber yard "gone
bad" due to slack of housing construction. They called me saying they were
about to lose everything, and could they grow any mushrooms. To me, they were
sitting on a gold mine with all that wood they could not sell. The company
grows Shiitake on wood. They expect of make $2.5 million in 1995. They use 8
tons of sawdust every 3 weeks. With the help of 22 employees, they produce
3,500 Ibs. of Shiitake every week. They expect to produce 10,000 Ibs. a week by
1996."

MEDICAL AND RESEARCH COMPOUNDS : This huge new market is not even part of the $900
million quoted earlier. Their worth is staggering. Phalloidin for instance is
now going for over $100 per mg. Keep in mind that there are 1,000 mgs. in ONE
gram! That's $100,000 a gram! Look it up in any chemical supply catalog, like
SIGMA. If you, or your company's area of business or research is in this field,
you may qualify to enter this new and very profitable unique market. New AIDS
research with Maitake mushrooms have caused this mushroom to bring as much as
$300 a pound when this was discovered. You will have little or no competition
in this market.

These compounds include antibiotics, antitumor agents, antiviral agents, and
even anticancer agents. One of the anticancer agents, Lentinan, showed 80%
remission factor in Sarcoma and other related cancers, with just a 10 day
treatment. If Lentinan was applied before cancer implant, it was 100%
effective. Panaeolus subbalteatus, a psilocybin producing mushroom, has shown
to be effective against polio virus in mice. Other psilocybin producing
mushrooms are now believed to have powers of improving hearing, eyesight,
circulation, and activating the body's immune system, even correcting “Cluster
Headaches”.   Enoke Mushrooms show Cancer remission (#77 TMC
January 2008).  There have been stories reported that certain people who
live down in some of the valleys in Mexico , live to be 130 to 140
years old. There is evidence now being gathered which points to Mexican
mushroom cults as the source for these stories. We at FMRC do not think eating
any mushroom is going to make you live to 130. However, if certain mushrooms do
enhance the immune system, you would not die as easily from colds, flu, or
other ailments which strike old people down so many times. The late Dr. Pollock
believed that the mushroom Psilocybe tampanensis held great potential for
psychotherapy and treatment of asthma patients. Mushroom RNA has shown to be
effective against influenza. Interferon stimulating properties are even now
being found.

We are now building up a client list in need of these compounds. The true fact is,
the medical people who want these mushrooms for extraction purposes, do not
know how to identify them, much less, grow them in their labs. This is where
you can play a very important role. If you have been able to cultivate
mushrooms, you have a very special talent. If you are of this caliber, you know
it is a special talent. Growing a mushroom is not growing a tomato plant. If
you wish to do your own extractions, no complicated lab equipment or knowledge
is needed. These extractions are done very easily. FMRC makes available
reference texts giving all the simple directions you will need. Having the
organic material (the Mushrooms) from which to do the extractions is the
problem. If you can cultivate the mushroom from which you wish to do the
extractions, you have solved the problem. If you know where to collect these
mushrooms from the wild, you have solved the problem. This is why these
extractions are worth so much. The people who want these mushrooms and their
extractions pay good prices. Besides, the cost is tax deductible as an expense
to them.

We are looking for people with this kind of insight. We wish to have
independent growers from which we can purchase needed mushrooms, or refer other
clients to them. We do not wish to have any kind of exclusive agreement. This
allows you to do business with any firm you want. You sell your product to
anyone you want to.

IMGN MEMBERSHIP IS ONLY $200.00 : Membership has been in force since it was started
back in 1983. This is a one time investment. If you are a little short this
month for cash, but you want to join, we do not want this to prevent you from
joining. You can also join IMGN by sending only $50, and then pay off the
$150.00 balance at your own convenience. This is how the payment plan works:
You send $50 and request IMGN Membership. You receive your IMGN Certificate and
"ID" Card. Your 1 year's free subscription to "TMC" is
started. No other IMGN Membership benefits are shipped, or entitled, until the

                                                          The Study of Gilled Mushrooms

FMRC was the first to introduce home correspondence courses to study mushrooms. Certificate of Completion, from Associate to Doctor’s are offered. Don't be fooled by "come lately" courses that others have now started. If you want to learn about mushrooms in the privacy of your home, and do so at your own pace, sign up with the only one that has more than 30 years of experience. No one else but FMRC can give you the real training you desire to have.  Courses start as low as $100.00. Financing is available and pre-approved!

Tuition Schedule:

Doctor......................$500.00
Master.......................260.00
Bachelor...................180.00

                                                                     09

Persons who pay full tuition up front, may deduct 10%. Persons who wish to make tuition payments by the lesson can pay 20% down and then make remaining payments as lessons are successfully completed. Lessons are completed at your convenience. They are sent by mail, graded, and returned with the next lesson. Upon completion of all lessons, and receipt of full payment, the degree is awarded. Text books are not furnished. "The Audubon Society Field Guide To North American Mushrooms, by Gary H. Lincoff is the preferred textbook for all these courses. This book can be ordered through most book stores. Other mushroom books may be helpful when completing "Extra Credit" portions on tests.

Additional materials needed to complete Doctor or Master degrees of Completion are all furnished. These may include specimens, spores, cultures, reagents, and other reading materials like "The Mushroom Researcher ($50.00 value, and "Growing Mushrooms Without Contaminations" (a $25.00 value). Students living outside the US must add an additional $40.00 to cover "Out Of Country" Airmail and Handling.

All of the following Lessons must be completed for Doctor's level. Lesser degrees require fewer courses to be completed.

1.....Plant Structure
2.....Basic Mycological Terminology

12...Deadly Mushrooms, 13...Choice Edible Mushrooms, 14...The Amanita, 15...Lepiota, 16...Hygrophorus, 17...Russula, 18...Lentinus, 19...Pleurotus, 20...Armillaria, 21...Clitocybe, 22...Coprinus, 23...Panaeolus, 24...Psilocybe, 25...Agaricus

Although our "Certificate of Completion" degrees are nonacademic and cannot be used for credit on academic courses, knowledge obtained through these courses can be transferred to academic credits by taking CLEP tests offered by most major Universities and Colleges. Certificates offered may not be acceptable when obtaining positions where an academic degree is required. This is the reason why tuition may sound to be on the "cheap" side. If degrees were accredited through a College or University, this would cause an increase by thousands of dollars in tuition fees.  Back years ago I was told by the University of NorthWest Florida, “To accredit FMRC’s Doctor’s Degree would cost over $26,000.00.”   And my cut is not even in that figure.  Because many of the subjects discussed are not offered by most academic institutions, I decided to make them available.  I many times talk to medical doctors from Poison Control Centers, working on identifying mushrooms involved in mushroom poisonings.  They find themselves learning a lot from me about identifying mushrooms, especially from spore microscopy and taking mushroom spore prints on paper to see their color.  They openly relay to me how Mushroom ID “Challenged” they really are.  When I tell them about these very same courses and how they can take them at their own pace and time, they even sign up!  These degrees actually show higher specific learning accomplishments than what most Universities and Colleges offer. Persons holding academic degrees can present our "Certificate of Completion" as supplemental credentials, and proof of further learning into the specific area of Basidiomycetes.

Mushroom Books You Never Knew Existed
Stephen L. Peele, Curator FMRC, was the first and only person ever to be awarded a Scheduled I Permit by the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to conduct research into mushrooms that produce controlled substances.  He does not work through a Hospital, College or University Permit like others do.  He has published many works on different species of mushrooms that produce these controlled substances.  Because of his background, theses types of publications are offered to further one’s education in mycology.  Many of his other works on edible mushrooms have been published in Journals like “THE MUSHROOM CULTURE” (TMC), “TEONANACATL” (TEO), and “MUSHROOM”, The Journal Of Wild Mushrooming.   Many of the publications listed here are not found available anywhere else except here at FMRC.  This means that you will obtain diversified information about mushrooms, not available anywhere else.

Greetings from the Florida Mycology Research Center (FMRC).   If your interests are in mushrooms, you have now come to the right place.  If it has anything to do with mushrooms, FMRC is involved, and has probably been doing it longer than anyone else……since 1972.  This includes extractions, compounds, mushroom farms, the world’s largest mushroom spore bank, publications like “THE MUSHROOM RESEARCHER”, sterile tools and other growing apparatus, chromatograph, correspondence courses from Associate to Doctor’s Degree., mushroom hunts, and the most elite of all mushroom organizations, “The Independent Mushroom Grower’s Network” (IMGN).  The IMGN is now over 5,000 strong, worldwide.  If at all possible, you should consider joining the IMGN.  By joining, you open up a whole new communication world into mushrooms allowing you to obtain any information you may need.

FMRC was established in 1972.   This means you are dealing with a company with over 36 years of experience with mushrooms, a real “rock” in the mycological community.  All items in our catalogs are used by FMRC.  What we have found to work best is what we offer to you.  No item is carried just because we can make a profit on it.

So whether you are just a beginner or a professional mycologist, FMRC welcomes your interests in mushrooms and stands ready to serve your mushroom needs……Highest Regards, Stephen L. Peele, Curator, FMRC

Certain mushroom compounds are selling for about $100.00 for 1/1000 of a gram! Most of the high priced compounds come from common mushrooms found nearly everywhere!  Most of them can probably be found right around your area.   This is like no other mushroom book. This book goes beyond growing mushrooms. It is for a special breed of mushroom lover, it is for that person who wants to move on up. It is for "THE MUSHROOM RESEARCHER" By Stephen L. Peele, Curator FMRC since 1972…………………………………………………………………$50.00 (Overseas and Out of USA $60.00)

                                                    ---------------------------

"The Easiest And Cheapest Ways To Grow Mushrooms"           By Stephen L. Peele, Curator Florida Mycology Research Center (FMRC)..... a new mycological table text dealing with problems and solutions on cultivating mushrooms. Topics include: How to obtain free or very cheap mushroom growing substrates. How to obtain free mushroom cultures and their spores. Liquid fermentation of mushroom mycelium and liquid inoculation. How to store master mushroom cultures for extended long periods of time. With this book you will be able to not only grow mushrooms like the top cultivating experts, you will do it better and cheaper than they can. The USA yearly mushroom crop is now at plus or minus $900 million.   Latest federal Dept of Agriculture documents these figures with plus/minus 300 growers! With this book you can get your share of this industry.  "The Easiest And Cheapest Ways To Grow Mushrooms"………………………………………………………………………………….…..$20.00

Overseas Airmail and out of USA $30.00.

"The Golden Doorknob"   This book not only discusses easy and cheap ways to grow psychoactive mushrooms, it also covers the secrets of growing psychoactive "sclerotia". These very solid walnut like structures are produced by some of the psychoactive mushrooms. They are more highly praised and sought after by Mexican Indians than the mushrooms themselves. When grown under proper technique they can get as large as "doorknobs", hence "The Golden Doorknob".     "The Golden Doorknob"..................................................................... $20.00

Overseas Airmail and Out of USA $30.00.

..... A note on mushroom laws. Know the mushroom laws in your local area. Some of you will live in areas where no mushroom laws exist. Others, like in the U.S.A., must be aware of laws that forbid the possession and cultivation of mushrooms that contain controlled substances. The mushrooms discussed in this book produce controlled substances like Psilocybin and Psilocin. This book is published on an international basis so check your local laws. This book, it's author, or FMRC, does not encourage anyone to break the law. This book is published in order to further the academic study of mushrooms and their cultivation as a whole. All research was done under a controlled substances Registration Certificate from the United States Department Of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration, Schedule I Registration, issued to the Florida Mycology Research Center, Stephen L. Peele, Curator.                              12
