FMRC is the Florida Mycology Research Center. We opened our doors for business in FEB 1972, having the world's largest mushroom spore and live culture bank. We still maintain the spore bank, but due to a lot of legal reasons, all agar culture sales were stopped. We publish TWO Color Mushroom Journals, and offer a wide range of growing supplies. We have FIVE different Catalogs: Main, Book, RED, Plant Tissue Culture, and Chromatography. As time goes on, these Catalogs will be posted here at this site for free downloading.
Over the past 30 years, FMRC has published many articles dealing with wild edible mushrooms, and their cultivation. The research, articles, videos/DVD's, and publications discussing mushrooms that produce controlled substances, are all done under a Federal DEA Scheduled I license.
The Department of Justice, the Drug Enforcemnt Agency (DEA), has acknowledged that Stephen L. Peele is the only person ever, to be awarded a Scheduled One Permit to research Mushrooms that produce Controlled Substances. This is an achievement that no other mycologist has ever reached. Dr. Steven H. Pollock, Bob Harris, David Arora, Gary Lincoff, Peter Stafford, Thomas Lyttle, Terence McKenna, and even Paul Stamets, have never reached this "Plateau" in Mycological Research.
Mr. Stamets works under the Permit held by The Evergreen State College there in Washington State. One must consider the protocol needed in order for the Federal Government even to consider one for this Permit. The 176 pages of Documents, qualifications, experience and knowledge of Mushrooms, that was submitted, meet the requirements of the Federal Government. This should serve notice to all, that Stephen L. Peele has done something that no other mycologist has ever been able to do.
Many of these items are not found available anywhere else except here at FMRC. This means that you will obtain diversified information about mushrooms. FMRC's "BOOK STORE" Catalog will list nearly all the articles ever released by FMRC.
